Playlist for War of the Seasons, The Half-blood

In case you missed it, book two in the War of the Seasons series, The Half-blood is out & available for purchase in just about every form imaginable. That said, I've been asked by several people where the playlist is? You know, like the one I had at the back of The Human. Well, truth be told, I didn't feel the need to list a playlist this time, because essentially the Table of Contents of The Half-blood was the playlist since I named every chapter after a song title. Even so, people have asked for the playlist, so you'll find it at the end of this post. This topic brings me back to a guest post I had the pleasure of writing for the talented Stuart Jaffe where I discuss what my musical inspirations for writing have been. He then very graciously returned the favor and wrote a post for my blog. I won't completely repost my post from Stuart's blog - you'll need to go there if you want to read it in full, but I am going to quote parts of it here, as it fits in nicely with this playlist post. Goodbye to Rachel Reid

People die every day - and though we've all seen it, experienced it, gone through it, it's important to remember that everybody is someone to somebody. Well, Rachel Reid is someone to me. She was my friend, a surrogate mom, and one of the most beautiful people I've ever had the honor and privilege to know. As I sit here, drinking the peach tea Rachel gave me, from the mug Rachel gave my daughter, I'm trying to reflect, come up with words to express how I'm feeling right now. It's hard. This isn't the first time I've lost someone I loved - heck, loss is why I even wrote War of the Seasons, The Human, to begin with. But that doesn't make it any easier. I first met Rachel and Ron following my 2nd deployment to Iraq in 2008 (and my husband's deployment to Afghanistan, at the same time). I wanted to take my husband (also named Ron) to some place special for our 7th anniversary, and I knew that we would need a quiet/calm place to decompress for a bit. We'd always loved Western North Carolina, but the B&B we normally went to in Waynesville, had closed. We were referred to the Andon-Reid Inn by the old B&B owners, and were not disappointed. [...]

June in Review, and a fashion post

1/2 way through July already *sigh* I feel so behind on everything! WRITING: I wrote nothing new in june, but did a lot of work on releasing The Half-blood (along with Kelli, my editor and Betsy, my artist). In case you missed it, you can get a signed copy from my website, from amazon , or a kindle version, and of course a nook version. Also, The Human made it to bestseller status on Kindle! At the beginning of June, it made it to #3 on YA Fantasy (topped only by The Hunger Games & Catching fire), #8 on Fantasy overall (topped only by Game of Thrones & Sookie Stackhouse), & I cracked the top 100 in kindle books overall. Hobbies: -Running- June was a rough month for training, though I did run at a least once or twice a week all month. Also, I had my annual physical fitness test & I did pretty good. 289 out of 300 possible points. [...]
